Justice for Soldiers and Veterans

The veterans and soldiers of armed forces deserve and should receive fair treatment and generous recognition. Whenever practicable, they should be given the preference in the matter of employment with the Government, and they are entitled to the enactment of such laws as are best calculated to secure the fulfillment of the pledges made to them in the dark days of the country's peril. I denounce the practice of such poor pay for our heroes, so recklessly and unjustly carried on by the present and previous administration, of reducing pay and arbitrarily dropping health insurance coverage, as deserving the severest condemnation of the American people.
