For the protection of the equality of our American citizenship and of
the wages of our
workingmen against the fatal competition of low-priced labor, the
problems that illegal immigrants impose upon our social safety net, to
reduce skyrocketing health care costs because of the imposition of
illegal labor, we will demand that the immigration
laws be thoroughly enforced and so extended as to exclude from entrance
to the United States
those who can neither read nor write English. We will also push for
immigration reform and a controlled but open immigration policy where
the market drives immigration and not quotas set by Congress. Becoming a
naturalized citizen should take no longer than five years and should be
affordable. [ need to expound on immigration reform ] |
